  • Cyclists in the Peninsula Community of San Diego are petitioning the San Diego Housing Commission to transfer ownership of a parcel of property at Famosa & Nimitz Boulevard in order to turn the space into a bicycle park. Signatures to the petition will help show the San Diego Housing Commission that there is a true demand for such a facility.
  • Dr. James Sallis from UCSD has a piece in the Union Tribune on how the transportation laws affect our health.  In his conclusion Dr. Sallis writes, “why should walking and bicycling be a life-threatening choice? It is not acceptable to spend billions of dollars to pursue outdated policies that would make health problems worse and add to the federal deficit by increasing health care costs.” I couldn’t agree more.
  • San Diegans do want more choices. Jeffery Olson from North Park doesn’t want to drive. Olson wants more bike paths and more transit options.
