Councilmember Marti Emerald posted this on her facebook page (emphasis ours) discussing her chat with the new pastor at the Kensington Community Church. Among the topics, improving transportation corridors for bicycling:

I met with new Pastor Darryl Kistler from the Kensington Community Church yesterday. Kensington Community Church is a United Church of Christ denomination which was the first denomination to ordain an African-American pastor (1785), a woman (1853), an openly gay person (1972) and the first affirm same-sex marriage equality (2005). Pastor Kistler and I discussed efforts to work on improved transportation corridors, including bicycle lanes, and youth issues including restorative justice. We pledged to work together moving forward. Welcome Pastor Darryl!
