September 9, 2011 (Tomorrow)

Brewcycle – This is a ride organized by the San Diego Bike Union. Starting at the Big Fountain in Balboa Park, the ride will leave the fountain at 5:45pm for a relaxed ride along Harbor Drive to Mission Brewery, one of San Diego’s many fine brew pubs.

Courteous Mass/Critical Manners – After Brewcycle, head back to the Big Fountain to join in on the second Courteous Mass ride. Tomorrow’s ride will be a short 7 mile ride leaving at 8pm. The ride will head north of the Park to University Heights, then to South Park, Downtown and then back up to the Park. For more details, check the Facebook Events page.

September 10, 2011 (Saturday)

Tour de Farm – This is a a bicycle tour which will feature school gardens, community gardens, market gardens and front yard gardens throughout the San Diego community.
Tour de Farm 2011 proceeds will go to support Matthew Sherman Elementary’s school garden in Sherman Heights. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students. Participants will meet at Riders will meet at Matthew Sherman Elementary at 10:30 am located at 301 22nd Street. See the flyer for more details [pdf link].

Bike to Brunch – In what is turning out to be a popular series of rides, the San Diego Bike Union is organizing a Bike to Brunch ride. The ride will be casual, mostly flat, and is for all skill levels including children. Sunday’s destination is the 30th St Café located in North Park. This month’s ride is capped to 12 riders. The ride meets at the fountain on the east end of the Prado in Balboa Park at 10:00am for a slow and easy social ride to 30th St Café in North Park for brunch. The Café is one of the participants in the Bike Discount Program and will be offering their 10% discount to the brunch riders.

EBF San Diego Group RideA&B Cycle Shop in Santee is also organizing a group ride that will be held at 10 AM this Sunday. This month’s ride will go through the island of Coronado and leaves downtown San Diego at 10 AM. See the Facebook event page for more details. The Electra Ride is a family oriented ride is open to everyone.
