What better way to celebrate the bounty of summer than by having a bike parade at a local farm and then picking your own produce? This Saturday, Suzie’s Farm has brought back the successful Pedal, Pick & Grin event that is free and very family friendly. You can RSVP on Facebook

Just another amazing family fun event down on the farm!

The Pedal, Pick & Grin features live music, farm tours, food trucks and much more. The event is FREE to attend, and you’ll have the chance to pick yer own organic vegetables straight from the fields (priced by the pound).

Downhome musical stylings of The Big Decisions and G Burns Jug Band will keep your feet a-tapping. God Save the Cuisine and Not So Fast Food Trucks will be serving up savories and Blue Plate has your sweet tooth covered. Or, BYO Picnic, if you like!

Bike down to the event with the folks at Blind Lady Ale House, group ride leaves at 10:30am. Bike San Diego will be on-site for all your biking curiosities, and Messy Jessie from Ride it, Fix it will be performing small repairs and have a bike rack available. Bring your wheels and show your stuff on the Bike Parade around the fields at 1pm- decorated rides are encouraged (no motors, please).

Farm Tours around the fields will depart at 11am and 1pm. We’ll share the story of Suzie and discuss our unique approach to organic farming. Learn about heirlooms, connect with fellow locavores and visit our chickens on these exciting 60 minute tours.

Get ready to Pedal, Pick & Grin!

Here are photos from 2011 and 2012, including three that showcase what it’s all about – good use of land with happy people.
