Help The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Raise Funds for Bikes del Pueblo

Gears4Growth, a co-op project by the San Diego Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and Bikes del Pueblo, has launched a fundraiser to benefit the community and Bikes del Pueblo, San Diego’s only bicycle kitchen.

The video below showcases the work that Bikes del Pueblo does:

The fundraiser is to help:

Raise money for Bikes del Pueblo and provide them with resources they need to continue their work as San Diego’s only community oriented bike kitchen. Gears4Growth is collecting donated and abandoned bicycles that will be refurbished as needed and given back to the community for those in need at no or low cost.

For other ways to help, the Sisters suggest the following:

There will be upcoming bike drives and bike build parties. If you’d like to volunteer or help you can keep up to date on the happenings by liking Gears4Growth on Facebook. You can arrange a pickup for a donated bike by contacting Gears4Growth on their Facebook page. You can also drop off donated bikes to Bikes del Pueblo at the City Heights Farmers Market on Saturdays & to Auntie Helen’s Thrift Shop in North Park during their normal hours of operation. When dropping off donated bikes be sure to let them know it’s for the Gears4Growth Project.

On August 25th the Sisters will be hosting a Poker Ride starting at the newly redesigned Plaza de Panama as the main fundraising event. You can join in on the ride, help make a donation to this worthy cause, and find more details by visiting the fundraising page on indiegogo.com
