A Urban Scavenger Hunt: San Diego Urban Challenge

Kathleen Ferrier, who is Walk San Diego’s Policy Manager, founded a non-profit called Bridges to Education in Central America (BECA) with her husband. BECA is organizing a fun benefit that is an urban scavenger hunt called, the San Diego Urban Challenge.

Think you’ve got what it takes to win an urban scavenger hunt?
Find a partner and test your knowledge of San Diego’s history.
* Teams of two compete to find answers to 10 clues in downtown San Diego.
* Navigate the urban landscape on foot or with public transit.
* No set course, you decide how to win.

First team to return and verify all clue answers wins: Two nights free in one of San Diego’s premiere downtown hotels. Trophies and other prizes also available. Photo documentation of clue answers required. Bring smart phone or digital camera.

Teams of two will walk, run, bike or use public transit to solve 10 clues in downtown San Diego. All participants will receive a day transit pass, a t-shirt (to the first 50 teams) and free beer from Monkey Paw’s Pub & Brewery.

Fun fact: beca is a Spanish word that translates to scholarship in English. I’m looking forward to this and hope to see more than 50 teams register for this worthy cause.
