At the monthly Bicycle Advisory Committee meetings, SDPD officers have been giving reports on the state of various bike issues including the alarming increase of bicycle thefts. If you ride a bicycle in San Diego, you may have either had your bicycle stolen or know someone who has been unlucky enough to get their bicycle(s) stolen. The SDPD has had a bike bait program in place for years but have been unable to expand the program beyond the beach communities due to a lack of funding.
Proceeds from the The Bike Month Bash will not only support our work but also go toward expanding the Bike Bait program that was started by SDPD Officer Dan Neifer.
Expanding the bike bait program to stop thieves from stealing bicycles would also help in making San Diego a safe place to ride a bicycle. You can help make the Bike Month Bash at The Lafayette a successful ride. Ticket prices go up in two days, so don’t delay in getting your tickets today.
