After decades of inaction, the city is slowly carving out spaces for people and forging a path toward an exciting and welcome transformation. A lot of this positive change has come about through persistent efforts of passionate community members like you who want San Diego to be a safer and healthier city. But so much work still remains to be done, especially in communities like Uptown.

Vote for Kyle Heiskala tomorrow!

Community Planning Groups serve in an advisory role to our city council and without strong leaders committed to positive change, the city cannot move ahead. Tomorrow, Uptown Planners will vote in new members and BikeSD is proud to endorse both Michael Douglas Brennan and Kyle Heiskala to Uptown Planners. The Uptown Planners represent residents and business owners in the neighborhoods of Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, Mission Hills and University Heights.

Unfortunately right now in Uptown, community members are fighting to stop progress and positive change. Uptown has been denied safe streets on India Street and Kettner Blvd, safe bike lanes on University Avenue. Uptown deserves better. Residents of Uptown deserve better.

If you love Uptown and want true champions for health and safe streets – come vote for Michael Douglas Brennan and Kyle Heiskala both of whom serve on the city’s Bicycle Advisory Committee and are committed to a safer Uptown.

To vote: This should only take a few minutes of your time but you must present I.D. proving residency, property business ownership in Uptown: Identification can be in the form of a driver’s license, utility bill, tax bill, business license, or rent receipt – any document that has your name and street address. Photocopies are acceptable.
